Manual Lymphatic Drainage

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a very gentle & specialist technique designed to stimulate the lymphatic system.

The lymphatic system removes toxins and excess fluid from the body. Unlike the circulatory system it does not have a means of circulation like the heart, and therfore relies on movement and muscle contraction to operate.

Interstitial fluid is collected from our tissues via vessels that feed into around 600 lymph nodes positioned around the body. The lymph nodes then filter toxins & waste from the lymph fluid before it is returned back into the blood stream via the heart. Stagnated or sluggish lymph vessels can result in stubborn & persistent puffiness that remains even when diet and exercise are maximised.
